We too often substitute the eternal source of life for a temporal; Let Jesus is your source!

He is All-Powerful
Lord God Almighty

Scripture Reading: Revelation 19:7-10

Key Verse: Revelation 19:6

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
“Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.

In the times when kings ruled over their land, they ruled by power. In the spring of the year, wars would break out and kings, with their armies, would go out to conquer more land. A king who had a long-lasting reign had proven his power to the surrounding nations.

Our printed key verse uses the verbiage of the kings: Our Lord God Almighty reigns. In Revelation 11:15 John repeats the theme: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign for ever and ever.” Break down the phrase, Lord God Almighty,” that we say so quickly. He is Lord over all. He is God. He is all mighty!

John the Revelator was given a glimpse of heaven and its activities. In chapter nineteen we are given a quick look at the ongoing theme of heaven’s choruses: “Hallelujah…let us rejoice and be glad, and give Him glory” (Revelation 19:6b). This theme was being shouted so loudly by heaven’s inhabitants that it sounded like thunder, like the roar of rushing waters!

There are a lot of quiet churches as they walk through their times of worship, but things will change when we all get to heaven! Maybe we ought to get some practice while here on earth! Maybe there ought to be times of outrageous joy, proclaiming worship and praise to our Lord God Almighty! Do you need to be encouraged for your day? Say the words—out loud if you can—Almighty God!

“Father, there is nothing that I am facing that compares to your strength and resources! I will rejoice and worship you in the face of my problems. In Jesus’ Name, amen.”
