God knows everything about you!

Knowing Ourselves
Know You Are Eternal – Part 2

Scripture Reading: 1 John 5:10-13

Key Verse: 1 John 5:13

I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.

The Bible reminds us that God sees and knows everything about us; when we sit down and when we stand; when we are traveling and when we are at home; He knows what we are going to say even before we say it! (Psalms 139:2-4). Does that amaze you as it does me? Does it challenge your faith to know there is a Being that is so all-knowing that He can understand all this about all of us? I hope it challenges you because His thoughts are so far beyond ours, that it is past finding out! (Isaiah 55:9).

If you can grasp this wonderful truth about God, even a little, surely it will bring you to the same conclusion that it brings me: I want God to show me who I really am. I want God to show me my strengths, so I can bless my family and others that I interact with every day. I want God to show me my weaknesses, so I can surrender them to Him and allow His power to turn them into a means to show off His grace and power in me. I want to know my core values and learn to live them out, rather than simply talk about them. Finally, I want to know the influence I have, so that I carefully guard my heart against the “influence-killers” that lurk behind every temptation.

These are the areas that we are going to investigate this month. If we take this study serious and do a little work on our own, we are going to see what God sees in us! We are going to know ourselves so much better and it will be so much more accurate than what the image in the mirror reveals or the people around us say or have said about us! The evil one does his best to destroy your self-image and, thus, your self-esteem. Allow God to repair all that!

Father, I will believe what you see in me, above all other voices! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
