In All Your Ways Acknowledge Him
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
About a year ago I was driving on a back road at a steady speed of 55 mph. I’m not sure if I was in deep thought or lost in the music as I was head bobbing to the beat, but I failed to acknowledge something very critical. That as I got closer to town the speed limit dropped from 55 to 35 and my lack of acknowledgment was soon going to cost me as the red and blue lights proceeded to get closer in my rear-view mirror.
According to Webster, to acknowledge something means to admit the truth or existence of. Simply put, it means to know. To receive God’s guidance, Solomon said we must acknowledge God in all our ways. We must be mindful of His presence in every thought and every action. Not just at church or around Christian friends, but all the time
We need to always have Him in view, consider Him one with us, conscious of every step we take, and take not one step without His lead and without His advice; ask for wisdom, consult His word and make the scriptures be your counselors. Acknowledge Him in all your ways.
Father, I don’t want to acknowledge you partially. Like the things I agree with or enjoy doing, but in all ways. Reveal to me the areas I may not be acknowledging you and give me the courage to take that next step.
