Plug In…Power Up!
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:7-15
Key Verse: Ephesians 4:16
From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
This month I want to talk about Christ followers who plug in to Kingdom building: God’s Kingdom. I believe God designed His Kingdom to be built by each believer using their God-given giftedness. When we choose to take part in some aspect of enlarging and encouraging God’s work here on earth, we “plug in.”
When we choose to plug in, we find the key to God’s power. Our scripture for today reminds us that each believer who “does their work” contributes to the growth and building up of others in God’s family! Good logic concludes that when someone does not do what God asked them to do, the church is weakened, and God’s church growth is hindered.
If you take the time to read the additional reading for today, you will learn that God has given (apportioned) a task (called grace in this context), to be accomplished by each person who follows Him. Yes, God has a task with your name on it. He has gifted you so you can be successful in that task. When you determine to discover and participate in this ministry, you get plugged in…and powered up! You’ll discover how much fun it is to walk in the Spirit, accomplishing Kingdom work!
Father, please open my mind and eyes to the task you have apportioned to me. I say “yes” to my assignment and trust in your empowerment! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
