Card Carrying Core Member

We are responsible, we can choose – things of this world or things of God?

A Card Carrier’s Priorities
Works of Service – Part 4

Scripture Reading: Ephesians 4:11-16

Key Verse: Ephesians 4:12

Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.

We’ve been talking about what the priorities are of a Card Carrying Core Member of the Kingdom of God. In other words, what are the priorities of a person dedicated to being a sold out follower of Jesus Christ? Our lives are about priorities far more that about how much time we think we have. Everyone has the same hours per day; no one is short changed on that! It all boils down to individual choices on how we are going to spend our 24 hours each day.

Have you decided to spend some of your 24 hours on reading God’s Word? Have you decided to spend some of your 24 hours on talking to God and trying to quiet yourself before Him? Are you making serious efforts in carving out some time for serving God’s Kingdom, which is really serving people that He loves? If you are a Christ follower, I know that you want to get your priorities in line with the Kingdom of God, but it’s hard. There are so many things calling for our attention, most of them are not sinful. God decided that He would give us all free moral choice; that is what makes for an authentic relationship between two people. We must choose where we will spend our time. We are responsible; no one has a gun to our heads. We can choose things of this world or things of God?

Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to help us to choose correctly; deleting things that consume more time than they are worth, leaving room for the things that will count into eternity!

Father, I need your help, may your Holy Spirit speak clearly into my priorities today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
